When April 2023 comes along, you will have nothing to worry about as your accounting records are fully up to date and ready for anyone who asks for them.
VAT-registered businesses with a taxable turnover below £85,000 will be required to follow Making Tax Digital rules for their first return starting on or after April 2022.
Sole traders currently require annual submission of a self assessment to report their businesses taxable income but this is due to change from April 2023.
HMRC will be introducing Making Tax Digital (MTD) for unincorporated businesses and landlords with total business or property income above £10,000 per year.
